Greater Cleveland Aquarium now open for business

The Greater Cleveland Aquarium officially opened for business yesterday. According to their website, "The Aquarium is the only free-standing aquarium in Ohio." It features, "more than 40 tanks of all sizes which are home to thousands of living creatures. From the Ohio-native brook trout, to the ferocious piranhas, as well as the sand tiger sharks that reach more than seven feet long, our residents will fascinate and entertain you. The Greater Cleveland Aquarium promises wonder and excitement around every corner."

Kudos to Jacobs Entertainment Inc. for bringing this concept to Northeast Ohio. We shouldn't have to go to Columbus or Pittsburgh for things like this. We need more educational, family friendly activities in this area.

Our family is excited to go visit in the coming weeks. Check out what patrons had to say about their visit during opening weekend: Plain Dealer, The Morning Journal.

The Greater Cleveland Aquarium is located in the Powerhouse on the West Bank of the Flats. For more, check out: Greater Cleveland Aquarium website.
